The ROI of Adding a Store to Your HVAC Website

By: Paul Redman

If you’re reading this blog, you probably fall in one of two camps:

You’ve either known about the power of Ecommerce for years, and have been searching for a solution just like Contractor Commerce to transform your business.

– OR –

Other HVAC contractors in your network are adding stores to their websites, and you’re CURIOUS. What’s all this noise about Ecommerce and why do HVAC contractors care?

Well, there’s a lot of money to be made online, and HVAC contractors are starting to get in on the action. Your customers want to buy filters, maintenance agreements, and fully-installed systems online. The thing is, they’d prefer to buy them from YOU – the contractor they trust, who comes into their home, answers all their questions, and does the actual installation and maintenance work. The problem is that many contractors don’t offer their customers an easy way to purchase these things through their websites. Contractor Commerce is helping to change that.

In this post, we’re going to help answer three questions we get most regularly from contractors just like you who are ready to turn their websites into a revenue and lead generator.

  1. How long does it take to add a store to my website?
  2. How much does it cost?
  3. How much money do I make (and how do I get paid)?

How long does it take to add a store to my website?

Adding your store can take as little as 15 minutes, depending on your website. The good news is Contractor Commerce will work with any website, and one of our Customer Success Managers will help you implement your store! This takes the headache out of the implementation process for contractors – all you need to do is track down the logins to your website, and we’ll take it from there. Schedule a demo to get an estimate on how long this will take.

How much does it cost?

Our pricing is straightforward, with no long-term commitments – every plan is month-to-month. You can start, stop, upgrade, or downgrade at any time. There is an agreement that you sign with standard terms and conditions, but it does not lock you into any payment schedule for any length of time. Plans start at $89 / month – visit our pricing page to view all options and details.

How much money do I make, and how do I get paid?

The success of your store is in your hands. With Contractor Commerce, you decide what to sell and what to charge. You are able to sell whatever you want, even if it’s not part of our dropship catalogue. You can ship your own products and offer them for pickup, deliver on your own truck, or if it’s a part of our dropship catalogue, we can ship it for you! Lots of contractors sell maintenance plans and other services.  Last but not least, you can use your store to generate hot leads for replacement HVAC and water heater systems. Your results comes down to how you decide how to use your store; you get out of it what you put into it. Some contractors are doing hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales through their online store!

In terms of payments, those are automatically made by direct deposit, once a month, into your company’s bank account. All pricing and payment settings can be easily managed in the admin portal, which you get access to upon signup.

After reading all of this, there is still one question that remains. How much revenue are you leaving on the table by NOT allowing your customers to buy from you directly on your website? That’s a question only you can answer, but we can help. Use our ROI calculator to see how much money you could make by adding a store to your website.
