Dominic Rubino on the Change Your Filter Podcast with Tall Paul

Who is Dominic Rubino?

Dominic Rubino is a business coach, strategy consultant, podcast host, and owner of 10xBLT & Profit Tool Belt. Before jumping into the world of business coaching/consulting, Dominic studied forensic anthropology at Simon Fraser University. While at SFU, Dominic also engaged in part-time service work painting homes & setting up Christmas lights, introducing him to a passion for home services.

Post-graduation, Dominic started out in sales at Sprint where he learned what it was like to work in a high pace corporate environment. After he realized this world was not for him, Dominic found himself building a business selling used items through eBay, buying a business coaching practice, and even starting an online pharmacy. Through these various, and successful, business experiences, Dominic now finds himself educating & coaching construction contractors on how to fix their profit leaks.

What to Expect

Throughout the show, you will hear Dominic detail the lessons he learned through his previous work experiences. You will hear Dominic talk about how his coaching has evolved throughout the years and his opinion on what needs to change about the state of coaching today (and more importantly, what to look at when selecting a coach).

Dominic shares great insight into how one can optimize his business strategy, and even details the 5-point agenda he uses, which was originally created by Verne Harnish in his book Scaling Up. This 5-point agenda is what allows Dominic to conduct better and more effective meetings. Dominic breaks down this 5-point agenda, in detail, to allow listeners to learn how they can start implementing this important, yet simple, tactic into their business today. Additionally, Dominic discusses some of the consistencies he sees across his business coaching clients that will help listeners be more intentional.

Lastly, Dominic talks about how his strategic planning tactics can also be transferred into personal/family life. Dominic gave a TED talk on this topic and details the experience of becoming a TED talk speaker, and all that was needed to prep & perform as well.
